Ingredients:

Celtic Sea Salt - a gem packed with 84 known minerals and trace elements

Coarse celtic salt in the same daily-use shaker format.

How you will use this

  • FINISHING SALT

Sprinkle on dishes at the end of cooking. The crunch and burst of flavour from the coarse grind makes the dish.

  • ROASTING

Generous pinch on roasted potatoes, brussels sprouts, or pork shoulder before the oven.

  • CHOCOLATE DESSERTS

A finishing pinch on dark chocolate ganache, salted caramel, or chocolate chip cookies lifts the whole dish.

  • EGGS AND TOAST

Sprinkle on poached eggs and avocado toast for a textural element fine salt can't give.

Substitute with

Used differently from fine salt: pinches at the end of cooking rather than measured spoonfuls during. About 30% less salt by volume than fine grind because the crystals are larger.

Pairs with

Roasted vegetables, grilled steak, baked potatoes, dark chocolate, fresh bread with olive oil. The coarse grind is also the right choice for sprinkling on dishes at the table.

Storage tips

Shaker upright, cool dry place. The coarse grind handles humidity slightly better than fine because of the lower surface area.

Source and milling

Same Guérande origin as the rest of the celtic salt range. Coarse grind preserves the original crystal structure formed in the evaporation ponds.

The story behind the bag

The shaker is convenient but limiting: coarse salt is best applied with fingers (a generous pinch) so you can feel how much you're using. Keep this on the kitchen counter for finishing; use the 400g sel gris for cooking.
