VEGAN D3 FROM LICHEN
Lichen is the only known plant source of true vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Most vegan D supplements are D2 (ergocalciferol), which is less effective at raising blood levels.

- Vitamin D3 1000 IU (25 mcg, from lichen)
- Plant-source cholecalciferol. Converted in the liver to 25-hydroxyvitamin D and in the kidney to active 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D, which acts as a hormone affecting calcium absorption, immune cell function and gene expression in hundreds of tissues.

Who is it for?
Vegans, vegetarians and anyone wanting plant-source D3 specifically (most D3 supplements are derived from sheep wool lanolin). Useful for all adults through SA winter when UV-B exposure drops.
Why use it?
Most vegan D supplements are D2 (less effective at raising blood D levels) or D3 from lanolin (animal-derived). This is true vegan D3 from lichen, the only plant source.
When to use it
Daily through winter (May to August in SA) at minimum, and year-round if you spend most days indoors. Take with the largest meal of the day.
How to use it
1 capsule daily with food containing some fat (D3 is fat-soluble). Test blood D levels annually to confirm dose is appropriate.
