Common questions

Can I take these supplements with statins or blood pressure medication?
Some can interact. Red yeast rice contains a natural statin and should not be combined with prescription statins. Berberine can amplify blood sugar and blood pressure medication effects. Always tell your doctor what you are taking before adding anything.
How long until I see changes in my numbers?
Triglycerides respond to omega-3 within 4 to 8 weeks. LDL changes from berberine or red yeast rice typically show at 8 to 12 weeks. Blood pressure changes from magnesium and lifestyle can be quicker, within 2 to 4 weeks. Re-test before drawing conclusions.
Is omega-3 from fish oil really necessary if I eat fish?
If you eat oily fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel) two to three times a week, you are likely covered. Most South Africans do not. A daily omega-3 capsule closes the gap and is cheaper than weekly fish.
Do I need K2 if I take vitamin D?

Can I take these if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
